Roof made of bamboo poles and palm leaves (coir or thatched)
Fastened with coir ropes, not nails (traditional eco-friendly technique)
Length: Typically ranges from 60 ft to 100 ft
2. Accommodation Features
Houseboats are available in different types based on the number of bedrooms:
1 Bedroom to 5+ Bedrooms
Attached bathrooms with Western-style toilets and shower
Living Area: Indoor or open deck with seating
Dining Area: Common space for meals (some have open-air dining)
Kitchen: Usually at the rear; crew prepares fresh meals onboard
3. Amenities
Air Conditioning:
Most modern boats offer AC in bedrooms (usually from 9 PM to 6 AM, unless full-time AC is specified)
Electricity: Powered by generators or inverters
Hot Water: Provided via geysers or solar water heaters
Television: Available in some boats (usually in living room or bedrooms)

6. Cruise Timings

Cruising typically from 12:30 PM to 5:30 PM, then docked for the night due to government regulations
Next day cruise resumes around 7:30 AM for 1 hour before check-out
7. Types of Houseboats
Deluxe Houseboats: AC only during night, basic amenities
Premium Houseboats: Full-time AC, better interiors and food
Luxury Houseboats: Spacious, full-time AC, modern interiors, sometimes Jacuzzi, Wi-Fi, etc.
Shikara Boats: Smaller boats for short day cruises (not for overnight stay)
